So when it came to learning about Octal and Hexadecimal this book had laid the foundation for that perfectly. (Not sure why some reviewers call the Octal number system in the book a "magical" number system - it was just Base 8 if I recall correctly) A memorable and educational book for children. I liked it.

    4. =D oh my goodness i am so happy to have found this. i read this ages ago on a whim. i have no idea what it was doing in the FH library but it's amazing.

    5. Read this series as a child. Unique among animal stories for having a working magical system which almost puts them in the fantasy genre.
