    1. I haven't yet read Book 1 although I will be very soon, however I wanted to dip my toes into Henrietta's world just to see what it was like. It seems like I will be going on a fun and quirky adventure in Book 1! Personally, I'd love to visit the Castle Tavern. With a hint of mystery to keep you interested and very descriptive writing, this is an excellent preview of Henrietta the Dragon Slayer.

    2. A short and swaggering story of a young woman fighter, straight out of D&D, who has apparently killed a dragon and now makes her living by wandering around the inns telling her tale. We see that she may be called upon to repeat the feat. The first chapter of the next book is included so you get a good feeling for the author's style. The lot didn't take me ten minutes to read. The lady does too much swilling of ale as she speaks for my liking, if it's aimed at YA readers, and as a general rul [...]

    3. This Prequel takes you to the world of Henrietta who was almost hired to kill yet another dragon, but instead has to face her own demons and fear in a tale. This short story has a good world building heavy in description, maybe a little bit too heavy and distracting. The constant interruption of the crowd makes it a bit hard to empathize with the heroine. This story is build on anticipation and you really get that.It was a nice read.

    4. Not kindle unlimited, read the prequel listed at bottom of all this and then found had the #1 book, which didn't like as well as the prequel but then again those are made to be short and if you realize it is prequel obviously there is only so much going in to it, but a lot considering short, but liked thisIn this very short prequel, meet Henrietta the legendary Dragon Slayer before the grand adventure that changes her life. In which she meets mysterious fighters, recounts her tale in a raucous [...]

    5. In this short prequel we meet Henrietta and tells us how it all began. Appreciate being a part of these books.

    7. No Spoilers! What a wonderful story and cast of characters in Henrietta the Dragon Slayer! Beth weaves the story through a fantasy world where the main character has slayed dragons and has seen her fair share of war for such a young woman. As she stumbles out of a tavern after hearing tales of her heroics, she meets a pushy knight named Franc, who insists that she return with him to the Islands of Oro to face the Emerald Dragon, Mimoto. However, Henrietta has other plans when she hears that her [...]

    8. This is a hard book for me to assign stars to, as my opinion on it flipped completely after I read the sample chapter it contained. Then I grew to like it even more when I continued on with Henrietta the Dragon Slayer. As a stand-alone, I don't rate this book highly at all. Before starting I skipped forward to see how long this one was and so I'd know when the sample chapter from the next book was going to kick off. It felt like the author had done two different writing exercises to get into cha [...]

    9. openbooksociety/article/heI found the base story engaging. However, at times I found the writing style not to my liking and then out of the blue – I would be totally engaged again.I liked when Henrietta came upon the tavern with its unique building design. Henrietta wondered“Was the tavern trying to be a castle, or a castle trying to be a tavern? Its ambiguity pleased her.”I found this thought making me like Henrietta even more. The writing at times had me wondering, but the introduction to [...]

    10. This book is a very short prequel to Henrietta and the Dragon Slayer. I got this book from the author. I signed up for her newsletter.Obviously, the story is very short. It tells the story of how Henrietta the Dragon Slayer met her two unlikely friends -Jaxter the Jester and Sir Frankie the Knight. These two caught Henrietta when she was at her lowest. She was down and disappointed. She wasn't sure of herself anymore after what happened to her last assignment. She also has resigned from the army [...]

    11. This wonderful prequel starts out on an even keel and at an easy pace. Henrietta is moving through the forest, traveling as is her life, when suddenly she is surrounded by mysterious masked men. What do they want? The majority of the tale takes place in The Castle Tavern, run by the no nonsense Jen.As Henrietta meets the townsfolk and tells her tale to earn her stay, she feels strange sensations overtake her.As each page turns, the excitement and tension build. The tale is vividly descriptive. The [...]

    12. Enjoyable quick read about Henrietta, a dragon slayer turned troubadour. Well written and intriguing enough to leave you wanting to continue the saga!
